9th grade - The Synagogue Cycle
The course focuses on the synagogue cycle and explores several of the Kitvei Ha Kodesh associated with the chagim of the Jewish calendar, as well as Shabbat.
Components include: Sefer Jonah, Megillat Ruth, Megillat Esther, Selections from Sefer Kohelet, Selections from Megillat Eikhah
Eshet Hayil from the Mishlei, The course emphasizes the ethical content, grammar, and relevant historical backgrounds of each sefer.
11th and 12th grades - B’China Jerushalmit
Exam
This course is designed to prepare the students for the B’China Jerushalmit Exam, which will be offered to students towards the end of their senior year.
Components include: Tanakh, Mishna, Siddur, Modern Hebrew literature. Medieval Jewish philosophy, Medieval Spanish poetry, Jewish philosophy/ thought, Modern Israeli poetry and prose
A standardized exam is given in May. The exam is recognized by many universities and colleges and may lead to course credit, a foreign language exemption, or toward the fulfillment of a prerequisite.
